This will be an extra­or­di­nary, insane and grotesque evening.

Crank Stur­geon has been active in per­for­mance, instal­la­tion and sound art since the ear­ly 1990s. A com­i­cal con­cep­tu­al­ist, he is some­thing of a mis­nomer: whether blend­ing pun with the pro­fane or trans­form­ing the pre­cious into an oil spill, it is impos­si­ble to cat­e­go­rize a Stur­geon per­for­mance. Accom­pa­nied by ridicu­lous cos­tum­ing, point­ed instruc­tions and para­bles (gone awry), and even the occa­sion­al diri­gi­ble or two, these ele­ments inter­twine, chang­ing into space-defy­ing inter­ven­tions and invari­ably involv­ing audi­ence par­tic­i­pa­tion. One word: Crank!

Frans Höy­er exists of Jus­si Reit­tu and Ari Suo­ma­lainen from Joenssu, Fin­land. Their work is all about exper­i­ment­ing and explor­ing the essence of the sounds of crap­py elec­tron­ics and mak­ing some sense about it. Late­ly Jus­si and Ari con­tin­ued with a con­sen­sus of a new vision: more intense expres­sions, rich­er fre­quen­cies, col­lab­o­ra­tion of drones and synth squawks and deep­er live expe­ri­ences with exper­i­men­tal video art. The music music sounds like a strange ver­sion of Lynchi­an sub­son­ic wooms with elec­tro flakes and noise crum­bles. One word: Finns!
