Sema­Space is a tool for 2d- and 3d-visu­al­iza­tion of net­work-like orga­nized data. This can be seman­tic net­works but also social net­work struc­tures and much more. Beside text frag­ments also image datas can be inte­grat­ed into the net­work. On this evening dif­fer­ent ques­tions will be con­sid­ered like the dif­fer­ences between Sema­Space and oth­er tools like Pajek. Fur­ther­more spe­cif­ic exam­ples, e. g. seman­tic net­works of the Ars Elec­tron­i­ca and linked image datas of dia­gram­mat­ic ques­tions and term analy­sis on the sub­ject “atmos­pheres-design” will be pre­sent­ed and discussed.

Diet­mar Offen­hu­ber is key researcher at the Lud­wig Boltz­mann Insti­tute for Media.Art.Research and pro­fes­sor at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Arts Linz. He is a found­ing mem­ber of Ars Elec­tron­i­ca Future­lab, stud­ied archi­tec­ture at the TU Vien­na and Media Arts and Sci­ences at the MIT Media Lab.

Ger­hard Dirmoser works as sys­tem ana­lyst in Linz and has been involved in research­ing the art field for 20 years. Sema­Space has been used for sev­er­al stud­ies since 2005.
