For the third time, the quitch wel­comes “Salon Wiesen­grund”, a dis­cus­sion for­mat between art and phi­los­o­phy, found­ed by There­sa Luise Gindl­strass­er and Stephan Blu­men­schein in  Decem­ber 2010.

In this salon Galia Stadl­bauer-Bae­va speaks about media strate­gies for mak­ing migra­tion vis­i­ble, as well as about con­cepts of the arbi­trary pre­sen­ta­tion of migra­tion and inte­gra­tion. Which images tell us about migra­tion? What do provoca­tive and pro­vok­ing counter-drafts look like? Is resis­tance pos­si­ble? Is resis­tance nec­es­sary? Do we have to talk about het­ero­nor­ma­tiv­i­ty and oppo­si­tion­al per­spec­tives being mutu­al­ly depen­dent? And above all, what about self-determination?

Galia Stadl­bauer-Bae­va stud­ied phi­los­o­phy and art stud­ies at the Catholic The­o­log­i­cal Pri­vate Uni­ver­si­ty in Linz, works at maiz and is now doing media cul­ture and art theories.
