At 18:00 a reading circle will take place in preparation for the lecture & talk.
Samantha Fox Strip Poker, Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, Sex Games, BMX XXX, GTA Hot Coffee Mod, Tomb Raider Nude Patches, Bone Craft. For quite some time qujOchÖ works in a reflexive manner on the issue of erotic, sexual and pornographic representations in computer games. In October 2013 a low budget exhibition entitled “PIXELPORNO 0.1 — a short journey through the history of computer*sex*games” was launched in this context in the former doll museum in Linz. It offered a short journey through the history of such computer games between 1980 and 2013, supplemented by media and gender theoretical set pieces.
Now the next development stage is launched: PIXELPORNO 0.2 deals with an more intense examination on the interfaces between science and art. Apart from reading circles and lectures an exhibition with works by international artists which have addressed that topic will therefore be opened on March, 27th 2015.
In a first lecture Doris Allhutter will talk on visual politics and affective materiality. She is working at the Institute of Technology Assessment at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and author of the book Dispositive digitaler Pornografie, Campus Verlag, Frankfurt/New York 2009.
