Saman­tha Fox Strip Pok­er, Leisure Suit Lar­ry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards, Sex Games, BMX XXX, GTA Hot Cof­fee Mod, Tomb Raider Nude Patch­es, Bone Craft. For quite some time qujOchÖ works in a reflex­ive man­ner on the issue of erot­ic, sex­u­al and porno­graph­ic rep­re­sen­ta­tions in com­put­er games. In Octo­ber 2013 a low bud­get exhi­bi­tion enti­tled “PIXELPORNO 0.1 — a short jour­ney through the his­to­ry of computer*sex*games” was launched in this con­text in the for­mer doll muse­um in Linz. It offered a short jour­ney through the his­to­ry of such com­put­er games between 1980 and 2013, sup­ple­ment­ed by media and gen­der the­o­ret­i­cal set pieces.

Now the next devel­op­ment stage is launched: PIXELPORNO 0.2 deals with an more intense exam­i­na­tion on the inter­faces between sci­ence and art. Apart from read­ing cir­cles and lec­tures an exhi­bi­tion with works by inter­na­tion­al artists which have addressed that top­ic will there­fore be opened on March, 27th 2015.

In a sec­ond lec­ture Rebec­ca Huse­mann will talk on vir­tu­al dis­crep­an­cies of boo­bies. The fix­a­tion on boo­bies and an exag­ger­at­ed erot­ic rep­re­sen­ta­tion is often an indi­ca­tion for objec­ti­fi­ca­tion in video games – there­fore it is a plea­sure for many design­ers which trig­gers remorse. Why do even game design­ers which are aware of over­sex­u­al­iza­tion refer to this styl­is­tic means?

Rebec­ca Huse­mann is study­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tion and indus­tri­al design with focus on game design at the Braun­schweig Uni­ver­si­ty of Art (HBK) and is a reg­u­lar author for the game blog “herzteile”.
