Going Underground

Preliminary project in the context of Linz09 ///
in cooperation with University of Arts Linz ///

The city of Linz owns a vast, widely ramified, yet insufficiently studied system of tunnels, bunkers and stollen. The project GOING UNDERGROUND deals with the underground space of Linz in a transdisciplinar way. It is intended to examine this space using art based research methods within a team of historians, artists and social scientists.

The aim of GOING UNDERGROUND is not to draw a simple plan or a copy based on existing plans but a map with manifold dimensions and plateaus on different layers like picture, sound, time, space and text. Planned are a publication, a DVD, a website and an art-based interactive spatial installation.
